Goals with goalkeeper

2 cones

Drill:

Players stand between two cones facing the goal.

The coach (or you can use other players) passes the ball either side of the player facing the goal (into the shaded area).

The player runs up to the ball and shoots first time without taking a touch of the ball

Progressions:

Use the same player to take 5 shots continuously before changing with another player

Use a 'line' of players so they go individually until everyone has had a shot and all balls are retrieved

Rather than face the goal, they face the coach and have to turn and shoot

Always shoot with either right or left foot

Coaching points:

Focus on striking the ball with the laces part of your trainer / boot

Head over the ball to keep it low

Accuracy is always more important than power!
