4v4 (25 mins)

Focus + Session design

  • 4v4 creating overloads (x2)
  • 12 x 35 yard area
  • In possession players can move freely
  • Out of possession - players locked in
  • 3min games (x6)

Progressions/Regressions

  • Time limit on final third
  • 9 can drop into middle zone for 3 secs, then CB can go with, so needs to time movement to support

Coaching detail

  • Small tight pitch so quick passes and awareness in possession
  • CMs to play on outside shoulders to create width and offer pass around opposition
  • 9 to always be available, can you see the ball, can we see your feet
