GK passes the ball out, he chooses where he plays it, preferably to a defender, unless marked. At this point, the defender receiving the ball must decide where to play it.
Objective is to play the ball forwards and stop it in the shaded area. If the White team wins the ball, they can attack the goal. At which point the Orange team tries to win the ball back, can play forwards.

Once Orange team defender receives the ball, Orange team players should move to give passing options, White team players should move to win the ball.
Orange defender has the ball, I would expect to see movement as shown. If this isn't what you see, step in and coach players. Player on the ball has three options, play back to the goal keeper, switch the ball to the other defender, or play forwards to the right midfielder.
Forward player should always look to draw defenders in by playing the diagonals. Which will free up space for the right midielder in this picture.

If the central midfielder doesn't drop deep, the wingers must do so, which will add depth and stretch the White team midfield.
Coaching Points:
- Defenders MUST pull wide in order to give the Whites something to think about.
- If Both defenders get marked, GK has option to play the ball to a midfield player.
- Defender on the ball must recognise opportunity to play direct if it's an option.
- Attacking player uses diagonals to either give himself an option to receive a long ball, or draw defenders in leaving space for a winger to make a run with the ball.

Depending on the skill level of both teams, and perhaps how easy it may become, add in offside lines for both teams to play to. As marked by the blue lines.
