Type: Ball Mastery
Team Function: Passing&Receiving
Zones: All zones
Duration: 20 minutes
Objectives: Introducing movement into passing and receiving
Emphasis: Body Shape
Coaching Points: Opening body while receiving, weight of pass, part of foot/ball
Organization: Triangle 10x10x10
Equipment: Disc cones, Balls
Goals: Players being able to receive ball while moving and taking first touch into space
Instructions: Ball will start on one corner of the triangle. Player st the point of the triangle will check towards player with ball to receive a pass. They will receive ball, dribble around cone and play ball to opposite side. Then the process continues. Each player will be in the middle for a minute.
Progression: Introduce different parts of the foot to receive.

Objectives: Introducing players to switch field of play
Emphasis: Body position, First touch
Coaching Points: Opening body while receiving, weight of pass, part of foot/ball
Organization: 15x15x15x15 yard diamond
Equipment: Disc Cones, Balls
Goals: Giving players the ability to switch field of play at pace
Instructions: Two players will start with a ball, two players start without a ball. Both players without a ball will move to their left. They will receive ball, open up and play ball to other side. They will then move back to player who passed them the ball and continue process.
Progression: Change direction of movement.

Zones: Attacking
Duration: 20 minutes
Objectives: Introducing straight line dribbling ability at pace
Emphasis: Keeping ball close while dribbling.
Coaching Points: Part of foot while dribbling
Organization: Multiple lines 15 yards apart
Equipment: Disc cones, Balls
Goals: Players being able to attack space with speed while keep ball under control.
Instructions: Both lines will begin with ball. They will both speed dribble towards opposite line and stop ball infront of opposite player. The process will be continuous.
Progression: Introduce non-dominant foot. Introduce different types of dribbling (roll overs etc.)

Objectives: Introducing cuts at speed
Emphasis: Changing direction quickly
Coaching Points: Knee's bent, part of foot/ball
Organization: Two lines, mirroring cone set up. One cone diagonal to the left 15 yards from starting cone. 3rd cone 5 yard diagonal from 2nd cone.
Equipment: Disc cones, Balls
Goals: Having players being able to use different cuts and parts of foot to dribble out of tight areas in games.
Instructions: Players will speed dribble towards cone on the left, cut around cone and then cut around 3rd cone. After second cut they will speed dribble to opposite line. Process will be continuous.
Progression: Vary what foot players dribble with and what type of cut players will perform.

Objectives: Introducing players into changing speed (stopping and starting)
Emphasis: Keeping the ball close enough to completely stop ball after dribbling at high speed.
Coaching Points: Every step a touch, part of the foot.
Organization: Cones in a diamond 15x15x15x15.
Equipment: Disc Cones, Balls.
Goals: Players being able to stop and start with high effieciency.
Instructions: Balls will start across from each other and both players will begin dribbling at the same time. Players will speed dribble towards cone on the left. Once they get to the cone they will stop the ball completely and then speed dribble towards opposite line.
Progression: Only if players having success progress to non-dominant foot.

Organization: Set up multiple lines, 10-15 yards apart.
Equipment: Disc cones, Balls
Goals: Creating good passing&receiving habits at pace.
Instructions: One side will begin with ball and play ball to opposite side. Players will follow their pass to the back of the opposite line. The process is continuous.
Progression: If players are achieving sucess, have players receive on one side of the cone and pass from the other side of the cone. Forcing players to take their first touch into space.
