Smooth transition into a 2V2 activity.
Equipment needed:
8 cones, or 4 cones & 2 mini nets. Soccer balls. Pinnies.
Explanation:
Activity always starts with a server playing the ball to the far side.
Have the players start the activity standing on the cones marking their goal.
Once that happens the game is live.
If the ball goes out, the team that kicked it out has to go get it and pass it back into the other team.
If your side gets scored on.. the team that conceded the goal passes the ball back to the team that scored.
Coaching points:
Encourage players that which ever is nearest to the player will the ball to close down the space.
Encourage passing, finding space & communication.

The Maze (10 mins)
Organization:
Create a 20' X 20' area so your little footballers have lots of space!
Equipment needed:
20 cones & soccer balls.
Explanation:
8-10 players per area.
Have the players partner up.
Players must go to a different gate each time!
After the players have partnered up, have 1 player go get a soccer ball.
The player with the ball will go through the maze first & their partner will stay on the sideline for now.
Every time a player dribbles through a gate they get 1 point.
If a player tries to dribble through a hits a cone, they don't get a point.
The player on the sideline will count how many gates their partner successfully dribbles through.
Give the players about a minute each inside the maze.
After the time is up, their partner will tell them their score!
Coaching points:
Heads up while dribbling
Encourage players that if a gate isn't open to quickly find a different one.
Dribbling in tight spaces with insides of feet.
Carrying to another gate using laces.
Keep the ball close to you while dribbling.
Progression:
Have players dribble to gates and preform a pull back turn.
Have players after they've dribbled through a gate carry back to their partner, stop the ball & switch
