Learning Outcomes:
1. Getting wide as soon as ball is central (either GK or CB) in the defensive third.
2. Adjust body to see the rest of the field. First touch should be a controlled touch ('catch' and then decide).

Organization:
- 30x40 grid or adjust accordingly to space and age group.
- 3 teams of 4 players, or adjust according to numbers (teams of 3).
- We can adjust to one ball per player, or less.
Instructions:
- Red team: each with a ball inside grid. Each player has to pass to a player outside grid (player on white team), but receive from a different player of who they just passed to. Every time they receive a ball, it's a point.
White Team: target players outside rectangle. White team players receive from red and pass back to a different player other than who they just received from. Each player gets a point for every pass they give.
- Blue Team: they combine with one ball and try to break the lines formed by red and white. A regression here would be to each start with a ball and break the lines by dribbling.
Coaching Points:
- COMMUNICATION 'feet!'
- Adjust body to receive and see three remaining targets. One shoulder pointing at who we just received from and other shoulder to the rest of the field.
- First touch control and catch. Then decide.
- Open body to rest of the field (hips).
- Crisp passing.
Progressions/Regressions:
- Take away or add soccer balls.
- Force a chip shot, one time, etc.

Organization:
- Expand prior grid by making it longer, more field-like.
- 4v4 + 4
- 1 ball
Instructions:
- 4v4 directional game. Teams score by playing to a target. Consecutive goals have to be at opposite targets, but can still use target as neutral support.
Coaching Points:
- Communication
- Get wide as soon as ball goes to target
- Target: be an option, get underneath teammate
- Receive on back foot, adjust body to face field
- Crisp passing, can we break a line and skip the wide player and go directly to target?
Progressions/Regressions:
- Limit touch, add target on the sides
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Organization:
- Expand prior field. Add two targets on each side.
- 4v4, blue team scores west, red team east.
Instructions:
- 4v4, teams score by playing to target. Directional.
Coaching Points/Questions:
- Can we get wide as soon as a target on possession has the ball?
- Can we break a line directly to target?
