Shooting Warm Up

Organization

  • 20x 30 grid
  • 10-16 players
  • Every player with a ball
Instructions

Arrival

  • As the players are trickling in have them working on Skillz to pay the bills Week challenge. When the majority is there have themstriking the ball with at one of the 4 goals and give them the
  • Freedom to express themselves while staying in the confines of the
  • area.
  • At this stage coaches should be engaging with players asking them questions and setting challenges

Activity
  • Have 4 teams 1 in each corner
  • The players will need to dribble into the middle square take a prep touch out and shoot at the opposite corners goal-they will then collect their ball and move to the back of the line of the goal they shot in.

  • How many goals can you score in 1-minute rounds

Finishing techniques

Organization:

10x20 grid set up multiple grids depending on numbers

2x tall cones
groups of 4-6
1ball per player but have spares at the side
Instructions:
1.players will dribble up to the blue cone triangle and finish into thepugs using the technique of coaches choice
2.after they finish they will then become the ball collector behindthe goal and the previous ball collector can collect the finishersball and head to the back of the line.

Coaching Points

  • Finish 1(Messi, Heath). Using the outside of the foot to take a touch the opposite side of the goal before using the inside to finish across the goal to the opposite side
  • Finish 2 (M'bappe, Press). using inside foot opening the hips using the same foot on the same side as the pug your finishing in. egright foot into the right pug
  • Finish 3(Ronaldo, Morgan) using a feint and quick touch before using the instep to drill the ball low and hard into the corner sameside as the touch
  • Angle of approach
  • Surface of finish
  • Technical selection
  • Speed of finish after touching no pauseopening hips at the last second
  • Follow up full pressure GK
  • Observation of the Goalkeeper
  • Choice of technique based upon distance, the position of the GKPositive attitude towards finishing

Organization:

  • 2x grids 15x20 
  • 2 teams defenders 5s and attackers 9s 
  • 4 pug goals per grid
  • Gks protecting pugs if not use players as GKsInstructions:

Option 1

  • Players from the attacking line must race around the cone inbetween the two goals closest to them and receive a pass fromthe next person inline
  • Defenders will also run around the cone but they have to leave 1Mississippi after
  • When the attacker receives they must take the first touch towards
  • the opposite goal and score
  • The attacker gets 2 point for a goal and only 1 if he uses more than 2 touches, encouraging a good first touch to score quicker.
  • If the defender steels they can transition to score in the opposite goal for a pointCoaching Points:
Option 2
  • Add the GK to the goals to add another element of pressure and a decision based on observation for the finisher to make
  • You will now need to place the race cones on the side to add a different angle and more pressure

Coaching Points:

  • First touch based on pressure from behind and angle for end productrecognize shooting space
  • Protect asset if pressure is blocking, use shielding technique to turn out of pressure or unbalance defender using moves to createshooting space.
