Dynamic Warmup with Speed and Agility (10 mins)

8 minutes Dynamic Warm-up with Speed and Agility

Setup

Cone on endline (setup each line about 4 to 5 yards apart for spacing)

6 yards from endline, 5 cones one yard apart

Cone at top of 18

Setup enough lines that there is at least 3 players and no more than 5 players in a line. Ideally 4 players in each line.

Dynamic Movements (Perform each movement to out to the last of agility cones and jog back)

  • Jog
  • Heels up
  • Knees Up
  • Shuffle

  • Open the Gate

  • Close the Gate

  • Knees to Your Chest

  • Quad Pulls

  • Lunge with Twist

  • Forward Leg Swings

  • Backward Leg Kicks

Agility Movements - Do each movement twice (jog to agility cones - perform movement - sprint to end cone - jog back)

  • Two foot through each cone sprint
  • Backward slalom through cone turn and sprint

  • Slalom through cones sprint to end cone 

  • One foot through cones spring to end cone

Technical Work (5 mins)

5 Minutes of Technical Work

Setup

Pickup speed and agility cones except for last agility cone

Split line in half with half at endline cone and other half at last agility cone

Setup enough lines that there is at least 3 players and no more than 5 players in a line. Ideally 4 players in each line.

Technical Work (about 1 minute for each activity)

  • dribble halfway inside the foot pass follow your pass
  • sideway rolls halfway inside the foot pass follow your pass

  • 2 touch passing follow your pass

  • short short long combo follow your pass

Possession (10 mins)

7 Minutes of Possession

Setup

Pickup speed and agility cones 

Split line team into of of 3 options

  • Four even teams
  • Three even teams
  • Two even team

Possession Activity Part 1 (about 1 minute for each round)

  • Play 4v4 with bumpers on the outside with purpose just to keep general possession (depending on age level touch restriction can be unlimited to 2)
  • Rotate each group of players or team after 1 minute

Possession Activity Part 2 (about 1 minute for each round)

  • Play 4v4 with bumpers directionally. Have one team only be able to play north-south neutrals and other team only play east-west neutrals to focus on players playing directionally in game
  • Rotate each group of players or team every minute

  • Attacking players work on going to goal
  • Setup shot cross combo

  • The 8 plays a ball into the 9 who lays it off for the 10 to shoot

  • The 9 and the 10 recycle their runs into the box for a service from the 7

  • Repeat with the 10 laying off for number the 9 and service coming from the 11

Back Four Building Out of the Back

Back four with the 6 work on moving the ball through the 6 and switching the point of attack

Also can work with group on driving balls across the back four

Goalkeepers (15 mins)

Goalkeepers

Goalkeepers should be part of team talk and dynamic warmup with speed and agility. They will split away when technical work starts

GK Technical Work (6 reps - 3 on each side or foot) small break between each set

  • One foot through cone one touch pass back
  • Two foot through cones two touch pass back

  • One foot through cones collapse dive

  • One foot through cones volley into chest

  • Slalom through cones dive on ground to right to make a save, next rep go to left cone

  • Slalom through cones dive in air to right to make a save, next rep go to left cone 

GK Post Technical Work

  • 2 minutes of shots in GK range (body)
  • 2 minutes of service (depending on age)

  • 2 minutes of distribution (punts and goal kicks)

  • Goalkeeper should then rejoin team to take shots in net
