Box Midfield - Positional Play
14 Players: 6v6 + 2 Wide Neutral Players
Grid: 35 x 25 Yards
Box Midfield Cues:
Defenders move the ball around the back. At some point, when the #2/3 receives the ball, the #4 will support more centrall and not so much on the side, they can take one touch inside grid to 'cue' the runs but then has to pass.
As that happens:
Strong side #7/11 comes inside (Sweet Spot) to create overload in Center midfield.
Strong Side #2/3 overlaps to give us that width and depth in behind
Weak Side #2/3 Tucks in to give balance
Strong Side #6/8 goes wider to create a box and changes angle of support
Weakside #6/8 comes underneath to give balance
#10 drifts weakside to open up space for strong side #7/11
Scoring:
1 pt once you play into opposition #2/3. Opposite team does same thing, when they get it.

Positional Play Game to Small Goals and/or Endzone.
Once ball goes into grid. It's live.
Can add #9 on each team if possible. (If you only have 14, then you can make the #4 in a different color penny so they act as a #9 & #4 depending on which team has the ball)
Also can have one team with a number up offensively.
Scoring:
1 pt once you play into opposition #2/3. Opposite team does same thing, when they get it.
Progressions:
1) Add 1 point if they switch to weakside #11 at some point before playing to Opposite #2/3.
(#11 can't score directly, why? forces immediate support underneath)
2) Now Finish to small goals with 1 touch finish. The game happens inside the grid now, with exception of OW or OB going down the line.
3)1 point to play in end-zones for run in behind or dribble across endzone

Diamond Midfield Cues:
Defenders move the ball around the back. At some point, when the #2/3 receives the ball, the #4 will come and support the player, they can take one touch inside grid to 'cue' the runs but then has pass.
As that happens:
Strong side #7/11 comes inside (Sweet Spot) to create overload in Center midfield.
Strong Side #2/3 overlaps to give us that width and depth in behind
Weak Side #2/3 Tucks in to give balance
Strong Side #6/8 comes underneath to give angle of support
Weakside #6/8 goes a little higher
#10 drifts weakside to open up space for strong side #7/11
Scoring:
1 pt once you play into opposition #2/3. Opposite team does same thing, when they get it.
Options: add 1 point if they switch to weakside #11 at some point before playing to Opposite #2/3. (#11 can't score directly, why? forces immediate support underneath.
Optional: Add a #9 OR Opposition #4 acts as #9 who only has 1 touch.
Can add 1 touch finish now to small goals.
If too easy: pass has to be played 1 touch.
