Organization: 30x 20 yd area. Fast paced 1v1 into 2v1, into 2v2
Blue attacks yellow at speed. Play is 1 v. 1. Player who shoots becomes defender. Example: Blue shoots and next yellow attacks at speed. Goalkeeper replaced by player who didn't shoot.
Coaching points:
(1). Speed of play.
(2). Mental awareness, head up at moment of regained possession.
(3). Emphasis on quick decision by 1st attacker to find teammates in advance of the ball or drive at the defense on the dribble.
(4). Get shot on goal in fewest number of touches possible.
Progressions:
-Progression 1: 1 v. 1. Shooting player becomes defender. Goalkeeper replaced by player who didnt shoot.
-Progression 2: 2 v. 1- Shooting player becomes defender.
-Progression 3: 2 v. 2- Shooting player becomes defender.

Organization
Two teams. Red team starts with the ball as attackers, white team defenders. The 3 reds dribble out to attack 2 defenders to goal. Once a goal is scored or play breaks down reds transition to defence, one player dropping off to make 2. White team attacks with 3 new players. The sequence continues.
Progression
- First team to 10 goals wins
Coaching Points
- Positive first touch, attacking the space/defender immediately
- Keep the ball central where possible to maximize options
- Movement and support run/position
- Quick reactions & transitions

Organization: 4v4 (30 x 40 yd area) No goalkeepers. Play for 10 minutes, then water-break.
Coaching Points: Challenge players to apply the pressure we worked on in the session. Winning the ball back and disrupting the play.
Out of Bounds - Side Line: If the ball goes out of bounds, shout Red Light to keep players from chasing it. Place the soccer ball on the side line and allow the player to kick it on to the field to a teammate.
Out of Bounds - End Line: If the ball goes out of bounds, shout Red Light to keep players from chasing it. All players on the opposing team must regroup at the mid-field line. This is a new rule for 4v4 play to help encourage players to pass out of the back. First pass is free.

-13 cones. 1 area setup cones staggered 3 yards side to side, front to back. 1 area setup cones in line with 1.5 feet spacing between cones.
Instructions:
- Go twice through each time. Switch lines after each run through.
Coaching Points:
- Running the knees and light on our feet not stomping down. Balance and control of body.
Progressions:
Cone line:
(1). 2 feet in each
(2). Weave through shuffling side to side.
(3). 2 forward, 1 back through end.
(4). Around each cone figure 8s through the end.
Staggered:
(1). Side to side shuffling.
(2). Hopping 2 feet 1 forward, 1 back to the side.
(3). Hopping with control 1 cone to the next side to side (slow).
(4). Side to side but run around each cone.
