Structured Build up Play - Switching the Play

Organisation:
- Set up as shown in the diagram, 7v6 transfer rondo
- Yellows objective is to transfer the ball from on side to the other as shown
- If successful they score 2 goals
- Each player of the yellows must play the ball, including the outside players before the ball is switched to the free yellow on the opposite side
- Once the ball is switched to the free yellow player on opposite side all players except for one blue and the far side yellow must transfer to the opposite playing area and the game continues
- Blue's are to press stop the switch of play and once possession is regained they can score in the mini goals immediately, if they score in the mini goals it counts as 3 goals
- Yellow's can try to regain possession if they lose it to blue's.
- Rotate players every 2 mins
Coaching Points:
- Create angles of support
- Weight of pass and touch
- Body position to receive pass and set up next action
- Pass to correct foot of teammate
- Awareness and scanning
- Quick transition to the opposite playing area
Progressions:
- When yellow's switch play they can score in the goal off a bounce pass on entering the new playing grid, this = 4goals, promotes quick support to players with ball on opposite side.
- If yellows win the ball back can score in same playing area goals, = 1 goal
- If Blue win the ball in 6 sec and score it = 4 goals

Organisation:
- Set up as shown in the diagram, 6v6+2 neutrals and 2 resting players
- Players are set up in a 433 formation
- Neutral players are allowed to drop into both shaded areas unopposed to help begin the attack
- Neutral players play with team in possession to create overloads and a switch of play
- Neutral players are to come inside the centre of the pitch when the ball is on opposite side once the ball has progressed passed the shaded area
- Team in possession looks to score in the large goals, combine in without a switch = 1 goal, combine with a switch = 2 goals
- Defending team look to press where possible and win ball
- Defending team are allowed in any zone

- Quick transition to the opposite side of the pitch to create goal scoring opportunity
Progressions:
- Rotate wide players every 3mins.
