Turning: Technique (20 mins)
Organisation:
25x25yd area with 5x5yd central area
Players split into four groups of 3
Groups spread around the square, 1 group per side.
4 balls
Instructions:
The player at the front of the group dribbles towards the central area. Once he/she reaches the central area they perform the allocated turn and pass the ball to the next player before returning to the rear of the group.
Turns: Cruyff, Drag back, Step over touch/outside hook, Inside hook.
Coaching points:
Low centre of gravity
Check the shoulder baefore turning.
Correct execution of the turn.
Accelerate into space then slow down before turning keeping the ball close to the feet.
