Organization:
- 4 cones in the middle of the area, 4 groups
- Each player has a ball
Instructions:
- On Coaches command, players dribble out to the cone, perform turn and return to their starting point.
- When they reach starting point the next person in line goes.
- Perform drag back, inside turn and outside turn.
Coaching Points:
- Close Control
- Head Up (check over shoulder to assess space and pressure)
- Accelerate after the turn
- Lower your body to give a better platform to accelerate
-Distance of touch (helps next action)
-Protecting the ball while dribbling
Progressions:
- Make into a race
-Perfrom the correct technique for the Cryuff turn:
Attacking the space forward on the field (looking to penetrate)
Identification of the space
Decision whether to keep going forward or turn based on pressure and space
Use of body, arms etc to fake
Direction of touch (based on next action)
Protecting the ball while dribbling
Use of arms to feel the defender
Push ball with kicking foot through legs

Instructions:
Players in line pass to open player inside of box by the cone.
Players recieve and dribble away from cone -Perorm Cruyff Turn
Shoot after creatng Space
Coaching Points:
1. Fake to shoot,planting the non kicking footin front of the ball
2. With the opposite foot,use the inside ofthe foot to move the ballbehind the non kicking foot
3. Take the ball away w ith the non-kicking

- 30 x 30 yard area
- 3 different color pennies
Instructions:
- 3 teams play possesion game
- Two teams will always play vs 1 creating an 8v4 scenario
- When defensive team gains possesion the offensive team that lost the ball becomes defenders
- 5 passes is a point
Coaching Points:
- Keep ball on ground
- Eye contact when passing to
teammate
- Sometimes pass short,
- Sometimes long.
- Make the easiest pass.

- Reduce touches

Organization:
Half field length, penalty box width field set up with full sized goals
6v6
Regulation game/rules apply.
Instructions:
Attacking team start with 2-0 lead
Teams told they can set up in any formation they like
Regulation rules apply and only 1 ball supplied like a regular game
Game lasts for 5 minutes
Coach relays how much time is left as clock runs down
Coaching Points:
Possession vs. Penetration
Do we have to score more goals or play for time?
Do we play concervatively or gamble on increasing our lead?
How does the mentality and emphasis of the team change as the scoreline does?
Transition upon losing/winning the ball - usually a good time from which to immeditely score from.
Communication between players - organization/team dynamics of what the objective is at that moment for the team. You will see which players are actvely taking a lead when setting up positions before the KO (taking ownership).
Other ways to keep possession? Keeping ball as individual (dribbling into space or shielding).
When the ball goes out of play how do both teams react?
