Set Up:
Cones 5 yards apart and 3 yards to the side for 20 - 30 yards
Objective:
Deceleration, COD, Cutting Technique
Time:
5 - 10 Mins, 4 - 6 reps (Based on age and fitness level)
How:
Player starts at the red cone and works up the zigzag pattern. Decelerate and cut tightly around the cones.
Alternates:
Can have athletes run figure 8's around the cones.
Coaching Points:
Short steps to slow down
Low center of gravitiy to slow down and change direction
Lean forward to accelerate
Plant outside foot and push ground away
