Stage 1 (25 mins)

Technical Warm Up (25 min)

juggling in pairs (5min)

fast foot work (5mi)

Technical exercise (15 min)

35yds x 40yds grid divided in half. In pairs players must pass right foot only. On coache's command the player without the ball must sprint to the other half to receive the ball from his partner. Passer must join on the other grid. Same on the other grid with left foot only.

Cp's- focus on technique, keep head up to scope space and pressure, toes up/heel down/ankle locked. Focus on passing and moving. Ping the ball on switches

2 v 1 Level 1/Level 2 (15 min)

2 attacking players work to get past 1st level, then 2nd level. Defender is restricted to their grid. Switch groups ea 3 min. Progresstion: Add time limits to get through each level

CP: Anticipate, Communicate & Be Creative (Overlap, 1/2's, when to dribble & when to pass)

2 v 1 Progressing to 4 v 2 Attacking Principles (20 min)

Set Up: D players play driven ball to A player then play pressure cover. Attacking players use combination play to create scoring chances. Start with each side of goal playing 2 v 1- rotate groups each 2 min. After 3 rotations, progress to 4 v 2. Minimum of 3-5 touches before finishing.

Variations: Limit toches to 2/3, 15 seconds to score

Coaching Points: Encorage penetration on & off the ball, Hips & shoulders to target, Communication, Look for cues of when to finish, when to combine, when to improvise

Stage 3 (20 mins)

Expanded Small Sided Game (20 min)

4 v 4 w/2 neutral players. Restrictions: 5 passes before team can shoot. 3 min or 2 goals, switch in group.

CP: Offer angles of support. Keep hips & sholders open to the ball to receive. Movement after your pass. Communication.

5 - 100 yard sprints before progression to no restrictions
