Progression - a defender is now brought in live in wide areas to create a 2v1 situation in the shaded area
Depening on numbers the back 4 mannequins can be replaced with live defenders and offsides become part of the game
Decision for the midfielders and strikers now is do we go to create a 2v1 to get our WB in behind
Coaching points
1. If a midfielder goes over to create a 2v1 then important another makes a 3rd man run into the box
2. If the midfielders are too far away to get their quickly, then the closest ST should create the overlaod outwide. In this scenario two midfielders MUST get into the box for the cross
3. For Wingbacks now - how to take people on, dribble the ball in the centre of your positioing (i.e. in front of both feet not to left or right). Try to square them up, and once they are squared up that is your cue to take them on and get in behind

8v8
2v1s allowed in wide zones but once a player is able to recieve or dribble the ball over the end zones they are allowed 2 touches before they can either cross unopposed or dribble into the box.
Coaching points =
1. In midfield
- recieve facing forward
- try to beat a defensive line when you recieve and with your passing
- get forward beyond the strikers into a shooting position
2. Strikers
- starting positions off the shoulder
- as one comes to the ball to recieve the other should be getting into good habits to get in behind, however as the ball gets played out wide they need to reset into another position (i.e. get in the box to score)
- players need to make dynamic runs (one near post in front of the GK, and other either far post of pen spot). Timing of runs based on cues (if WB looks up - means she's going to cross so time to make your run), if the ball is running towards the byline then the winger won't have time to have a touch, so time your run for when she is approaching the byline
3. Wingbacks
- Get behind the defence before you cross
- try to get your head up before you cross to pick out your zone
- if not aim for three zones - either near post or a curved ball to the pen spot if you're not close to the byline, a cut back if you are at the byline or a chip to the far post
- As drill possess and you become an attacker (get to the far post)
Others
If a 10 gets on it facing forward with time on the ball look to make a run in behind. If the 2/5 is tight to the 3/4 look to recieve beyond and wide and if they are not, look to recieve in behind.
STs - continue makiing the runs as prescribed on Tuesday - however if the ball is laid off wide and the WB is high enough to recieve in behind then look to hold your position and spin off into a finishing position in the box. If not, then look to make your run into the channel and the WB can then get into a central position in the box.

Passing Pattern 1 (5 mins)

Players play into a 3v2 active zone in midfield, one striker shows to recieve while the other spins off to get to far post to make a near post run.
