Passing Patterns of play - 4-5-1 (30 mins)
Passing Patterns of Play - 4-5-1
- Full pitch to be used
- Cones marked out are where team formation will start as per 4-5-1
- Poles marked out are opposition set up in a 4-3-3
- Coach to start the function by passing to a CB or FB
- Players then to develop passing patterns of play up the field through the 3 zones with the target to score a goal against the GK.
- Players should look to play through the zones as quickly as possible while quality of passing to be of a high standard.
- Players off the ball to move to relevant zones as appropriate (as per 3 zones function)
- Develop understandings on the pitch - ie if RB has the ball who can move to show for the ball and where.
- Tempo must be high.
- When a goal is scored or the ball goes out of play all players must sprint back to starting position cone.
- Players to do 2 sets and then another set of 10 players will complete the same set.
Progression - add 2 players per zone to be opposition - these players must stay in the zones given but can actively look to press and win the ball - these players will work for 4-5 minutes and then rotate out.
