Technical Warmup (25 mins)

Technical Warmup

Girls will be do the agility exercise, receive a volley or header service, swap places with the player on the cones, and stop the ball at the cone. They will stay in the same line and we will rotate during rest periods. We will work for two minutes and rest for sixty seconds.

1. Right instep

2. Left instep

3. Right laces

4. Left laces

5. Thigh volley

6. Chest volley

7. D header

8. O header

Ladders

Both ladders will use the same pattern, so we will go through four patterns.

1. Two feet in each box forward

2. Two out two in

3. Shuffle

4. Two up, one back

Poles

Everything through the poles will be a shuffle. For the first four dribbling instructions, we will do a forward shuffle. For the last four, we will progress to a backward shuffle.

Hurdles

Knees to chest. No High School Musical jumps.

Chelsea Circle (25 mins)

Chelsea Circle

A small area will be marked off in the center of a large circle. Half the players will be on the outside of the large circle, half will be on the inside. Inside players will receive and return a pass as specified from an outside player. They must recover into the middle area and check hard to a new server every time. We will work for two minutes and switch, ideally taking 30 seconds to explain the next progression.

1. Two-touch (right back)

2. Two-touch (find someone new)

3. One-touch passes (right and left, receivers must tell server which foot they want the ball on)

4. Instep volley (same as above)

5. Laces volley (same as above)

6. Thigh volley (same as above)

Handball (25 mins)

Divide teams evenly, irrespective of level. Play handball for three seven minute periods marked out in a 20x35 grid with two gates at either end. Work backward from 11v11 by removing a CB from each side first, them a CM.

Objectives:

Get girls comfortable existing in the 4-3-3 shape

Begin to identify offensive roles and responsibilities in the 4-3-3 shape
