Technical skills to shift the ball left and right. 1v1 to shift defender. Small Sided.

Attack then Defend. 1v1's to go to goal.
Player A- 1) Attacks on the dribble to finish (pass) into one of the two goals. 2) Player then defends player B (next player in line)
Player B- The drill starts over... Attack then defend.
Progression:
-Give the attacking player a time limit (5 sec to score a goal)
-Add a line for the player to finish behind (forces a longer pass and creates less time to go to goal)
-2v1(attack with two, shooter defends and other attacker returns to line.) 2v2 (attack with two, shooter must touch goal before defending, other attacked can defend right away)
Coaching Points:
Attacker- Attack the open space with a big touch and speed. Prepare to shift or freeze the defender and attack the opposite direction. Finish quick before defender recovers.
Defender- Force one way. Close down space and be strong in the tackle. (2v1 situations be patient, cut pass off and close down player with the ball)

Small Sided Game (depends on Numbers)
Lets try to play 6v6. The only thing we will add is a line down the middle of the field. We will focus on the players away from the ball not getting sucked all the way over. (spatial awareness)
Other than that lets just let them play. 3-4 5 min games. Keep score and declare a winner.

Dribbling-1 (20 mins)
Grid Size and number of lines can change depending on numbers. No more than 3 per line.
1- Player performs skill up to the line (dribbling, inside-outside, toe-taps, etc)
2- Player performs skill on the way back. Take over with their partner.
Progression- add a pass back- travel with first touch.
**Coaching Points**
1- Technique in skill/dribble.
2- Use the shoulders to "pretend" shift the defender.
3- Shift the ball left and right when using inside or outside of the feet.
4- Once player confirms, can the do everything at a higher intensity.
