Warm Up
10 Minutes
Equipment Needed: Bibs, Cones, Balls
Game: Stuck in the mud
Set Up: 20x20 Grid
6 Runners, 2 Chasers. The 2 chasers are holding bibs of any color.
Game 1: Players without a ball. Chasers looking to tag the runners. If runners are tagged, they must freeze and yell HELP I'M STUCK IN THE MUD! Other runners must come tag the players stuck in the mud to free them. Play for 1 minute or until all players are tagged, whichever comes first. If chasers tag all players before the minute is up, they win. If runners can stay unstuck for the entire minute, they win. Rotate chasers, play 3 games without ball.
Coaching Points: Teach all in the form of questions
Players must run with their head up to see where defenders are (Where should you be looking when you are running?)
Players must change direction to avoid defenders (Who are you trying to stay away from?)
Players must help their teammates (How do you help your teammates?)
Game 2: Add a ball. If players are able to dribble, have the ball at their feet. If they are not, have the ball in their hands. Now to free their teammates, they must either dribble/pass the ball through the stuck players legs.
Coaching Points:
Players should take smaller touches to keep the ball under control
Players need to be able to turn with the ball, stopping it with the inside or bottom of the foot.

Running With The Ball
15 Minutes
Equipment Needed: bibs, cones, balls, mini goals
Game: Sharks and Minnows
You can use the same 20x20 grid as the warm up.
6-7 Minnows, 1-2 Sharks (can be a coach)
Minnows must dribble their ball across the HUGE OCEAN to get to the other side. Beware of the sharks, who will try to take your ball. If the shark wins the ball, they try to score in the mini goals. If minnow loses their ball, they become a shark.
NOTE: SHARKS MUST RUN WITH THEIR HANDS ON THEIR HEAD LIKE A SHARK FIN!

Changing Direction:
15 Minutes
Red Light/Green Light/Turn
Equipment Needed: Red Cone, Green Cone, Blue Cone, balls, mini goals.
In the same 20x20 grid. Coach holds Red cone, Green Cone, Blue Cone.
Red = Stop
Green = Go, try to score on the mini goal across
Blue = Turn and sprint, try to score on the mini goal behind you.
Players line up, all with a ball.
Coach holds up one of the cones. When the blue cone is held up, all players turn around and try to score on the mini goal that is behind them. Try to hold the blue cone up while players are dribbling, so they have to turn while moving and go the other direction.
