- Start at A and B simultanously
- pass the ball in a pattern shown and follow the pass
Coaching points:
- treat cones as defenders, so stress moving away from the defender to receive the pass
- control the ball on the back foot
- try 2-touch movement, so stress importance of first touch to set up the pass
- tell players to look where they're passing and not at the ball
- nice firm pass
- loud communication

Organization:
-Two Teams
- 8 Players
-1 Ball
-30x30 area
Instructions:
-Orange team starts with the ball. They look to switch the ball back and forth between the three players until they can find a penetrating pass to their forward (A).
-If green intercepts the pass they do the same.
-A point is scored by playing into the forward.
-Ball restarts in the middle.
Coaching Points:
-Look to switch the point of attack if you cannot penetrate with a pass.
-Switch the point of attack quickly to unbalance defense.
-Driven pass to switch the point of attack.
-Penetrate when possible
Success Criteria:
Players move the ball quickly but are patient about when to penetrate.
Players keeping possession maintain angles to play supportive roles in possession (rather than pass the ball squarely continually)
Progressions:
-Ask the players to make a certain amount of passes before being able to penetrate

Instructions:
-Players play 4v4 inside of area
-Players can attack two goals, one on the right side and one on the left.
-Players must switch the point of attack by crossing the markers in the middle with a pass before they can score.
-Kick ins
Coaching Points:
-Look to switch the point of attack to penetrate the open area
-Look to unbalance defenders when switching the play.
-Switch play quickly, one or two touch
Success Criteria:
Players Utilize width in possession until the space is constricted by defense, then looks to switch point of attack to create another opportunity to score with width.
Progressions:
-Progress into a normal scrimmage.

Warm Up Driven Pass (15 mins)
Organization:

Instructions:
Players at A start with the ball
Players at B check in to receive
Player B takes 2 touches to drive the ball across to opposite player A
Player B moves across to receive same ball
Repeat for 10 driven passes
Coaching Points:
Player B move to support player A on an angle
Receive on back foot
Use 2nd knuckle of big toe to contact the ball slightly off center
Head down on ball and stays there. Eyes focused on ball.
Plant foot beside ball. As always: TOES point to target. Left foot is planted and slightly bent. Body leans forward slightly. Left arm is up and angled out wide for balance, right arm is near torso.
Bent pass mechanics: swing right heel back towards butt (creating lateral momentum) follow through forward with heel up and the ankle locked. Make contact with the right side of the ball and kick across your body (leg is swung past left hip and is raised up. Simultaneously LEFT ARM: swing arm across body and over your chest. Head stays steady or you will send the ball out of bounds (forward momentum on a lateral action)
