10v8 Build Up Positional Play Game:
Main focus: Positional understanding of where to be on build-up.
Organization: 30 x 60. Final zones = 15 x 30; middle zone = 25 x 30; Play in zones 10 yards.
4-4-2 Box vs. 4-3-3 & 3-box-3 vs. 4-4-2 box.
Rules:
Black team has to man mark them as much as possible. # team has to connect 3 passes in defensive third before going forward. Ball can be dribbled or passed forward into next zone.
To start if players play 7 or 11 in final zone they have a one touch lay off.
# team can also connect 10 passes for 1 pt.
-Players can come in and out of def/mid third. Once ball gets to attacking third, it's live.
Optional: Can put tagging rule

Block 1: 4-4-2 box vs. 4-3-3
Block 2: 4-4-2 box vs. 4-4-2 diamond
Block 3: 3-box-3 vs. 4-4-2 diamond
Block 4: 3-box-3 vs. 4-3-3
Scoring:
# team: 3 passes in D3 and M3 zone before advancing the ball. Defenders can win ball off forwards after 1st touch.
Black team: 1 pt. score on big goal or connect 5 passes (7 & 11 can come inside grid to help win ball back)

9v7 Build Up Positional Play Game:

3-4-2 vs 3-3-2 (can progress to a 3-5-1)
Blue Team works on building through the thirds. One midfield player can join in defensive third to help with build-up. Once ball is played into middle third. One player from Defensive Third can join the Midfield third. As blue progresses into final third. 2 Players can join final third.
Scoring:
Play ball into final third, for a player to stop it in the endzone OR create a one touch finish with runners running into the box.
Rules:
3 Touch max
- no restriction on having to pass ball in midfield zone.
Progression:
-One defender in attacking zone can come in the midfield zone and one defender in midfield zone can go into defensive zone to defend.
-If midfielder comes into defensive third to build out, one defensive midfielder can follow now.
-2 points for a third man run into final zone.
Coaching Points:
Midfield Rotation to unbalance defense
1) Shape of how we build. (Relationship of OB & OW)
2) Immediate support when line is broken.
3) Interchangeable Parts: mobility and awareness especially of CM's; OM's and FWs.
How do we unblance defense when building out?
Negative transition.

2 x 10-15 min games.
One team works on winning the ball and creating scoring opportunity within 8 seconds (positive transition).
Other team just plays with emphasis on build the ball and avoiding long balls. That team also has to have every player pass the half way line in order for the goal to count

4v4+1 Breaking Lines Game & Counter Principle Def. Organization
4v4 + 1 in 15 x 20 Yard Grid split into 4 zones. Back 2 defenders have to defend in second to last zone and there is offside which affects attacker movements.
Rules:
Unlimited until ball breaks first line of pressure. Once ball gets played past defensive pressure, it is 2
Scoring:
1 pt score a goal after playing through ball into final zone.
