Intro (10 mins)

Organization:

7 Gates (Blue)

2 Defenders (With ball)

Instructions:

90 second game to see how many gates the players can get through to get points

Defender with ball - look to block gates ( can only block for 6 seconds)

Coaching Points/Questions:

Where is the open gate?

How can you be proactive instead of reactive?

- Look to dribble to an area to commit defender (Proactive) and change direction once they bite

What technical skill can you use ? What part of the foot?

Regressions/Progressions:

P - Defenders no ball - look to block gates

P - Add more defenders

R - More gates / less defenders

Main Activity (20 mins)

Organization:

  • 2 fields for 1v1s
  • 2 goals to attack.
  • Add a third field according to numbers. (3 players max per line)

Instructions:

-Defenders start with ball - they pass across for the attacker to receive and play 1v1.

- Both players looks to score on either two goal.

- Must cross end zone in order to score, if they change direction, they will have to cross end zone as well.

- If defender wins ball, they have to attack opposite goal or get into the middle zone in order to turn and reattack the goal they won ball from.

Coaching Points/Questions:

- "Where is the open space?

- "What- Decision whether to keep going forward or turn based on pressure and space"

- "What technical skill can you use to unbalance opponent?"

- "How can you use your body to protect the ball?"

Regressions/Progressions:

R: Attackers start with the ball instead of receiving it.

- Proactive - Dribble to commit defenders to sice of the field in order to change direction

- Reactive - Based on speed of defender, look to use stop/start to shake off and look to turn away from them.

Two goals to attack

Two goals to defend.

Add second field if needed

Use Gates, if not enough equipment.

Instructions:

- 3v3 or 4v4s

- All restarts are kick-ins

- Can score on either attacking goal.

- "What can you use to protect ball?"

- "How can you deceive defender"?"
