Simple passing pattern that includes a short dribble with a trick.
Player A shifts the ball to the left of the white gate and makes pass (1) into player B.
Player B checks off white cone to receive, beat the cone and play pass (2) into player C.
Player C dribbles (3) and must include a trick before red gate. At red gate player C punches a pass into the target goal
Player D restarts the same pattern to the opposite side (5).
Players of all ages should be able to incorporate 3 balls.
Progression
1. Encourage players that beat cones on sides of diamond, to be creative in how they beat the cone.
i.e: 1st touch beats cone; 2nd touch beats cone; creative touch beats cone
2. One two at every station. Timing of supporting runs, weight of different passes, indicators from receiver as to where they want the ball.

Short sharp bursts of pace to support quickly. Medium intensity.

Practice Organisation:
*A 24x18yd grid with 3 balls set on cones 5yds apart at one end of the grid.
*At the opposite end two cones set approx 6/7yds apart.
*Attackers line up to the side of the first cone furthest from the balls.
*Defenders line up with a ball each 3/4yds behind the opposite pop-up cone.
*Practice starts with: D1 dribbles the ball between the cones and steps on the ball for A2 and sprints round the far cone.
*A2 must dribble the ball towards end zone and try and knock of a ball.
Progression:
*The Attacker must shoot before the 4yd line.
Learning Objectives:
1. Good first touch out of feet.
2. Show composure and accuracy of finish to knock ball off cone.
3. Reaction to defend.
4. To improve running with the ball and finishing under pressure.

Practice Organisation:
*Area 25x15 yds, with a 5yd end zone, set out as illustrated.
*7 players (incl. GK), arranged 3 Attackrsv 1 Defender, 1 ball.
1. Practice starts with: Coach feeds the ball to one of the 3 A's.
2. After first touch by A's the 2 recovering D's chase back to defend.
3. Practice both with & without off-side restrictions.
4. If D's gain possession or GK saves their objective is to combine to get the ball over the start line.
5. If this is achieved roles are reversed, with A's becoming D's.
Learning Objectives:
1. First D works on delay & slow withdrawal of position to gain time for recovering defensive support.
2. A's look to penetrate quickly
3. Recoving D's work on lines of recovery back to goal.
4. GK's position to support & communicate with D's

Practice Organisation:
- A 40x30yd area set up with two appropriate sized goals at either end.
- 6v6 in the middle with balls in either goal.
- Players must be inside 5yd shooting line to score.
- After attackers shoot, weather they score or not, they must runn around the goal they shot at before getting back into the game.
- This gives the other team time to break quickly with an overload of 3v2.
Progression:
- Use GK's.
- Take out 5yd shooting line.
Learning Objectives:
- To imporve fast break out play.
- If speed alone works use it and create your shooting chance.
- How can defenders slow the game down to get back in balance.
