This activity will help players understand the importance of individual defending (following a mark).
Area: 30X30
-Partner up players on opposite teams.
-Only allowed to defend the partner you are given.
- 90 second game, see which team can have the ball at the end of those 90 seconds
Coaching Points:
1) One eye on ball, one eye on mark
2) Make it difficult for partner when he/she receives the ball
3) Try and get their head down

This activity will improve your teams ability to press and win the ball back. Once the ball is one, they are able to play forward and start a counter.
Area: 60x40
- All restarts with the team of 5 (blue)
- In one half: team of 5 works to score on team of 4 (red).
- When team of 4 wins it, they look to play the 2v1 in other half.
- One player from team of 5 may recover to defend in other half.
- Play 2 min games an switch roles
Coaching Points:
*When team of 5 loses it:
- On the ball: 2 closest = ball-oriented forcing outside.
- Around the ball: tighly mark the next closest passing opportunities.
- If press is broken - delay for support!
*When team of 4 finds 2v1
- delay for support

4v4 Conditioning Game: Field: 33x20
Set 1: Six 1-minute games, with 1.5-minute rest between games
REST 4 minutes between sets
Set 2: Six 1-minute games, with 1.5-minute rest between games
- Uninterupted Play: Coach within the run of play only. No stoppages. Keep balls available for restarts.
NOTE: You can have 2 seperate games going! Inactive players should be doing fitness specific to game demands on the side. Make sure to switch players in and out between each game and not during.
