3 v 3 with Two Wide Goals (15 mins)


  • To score, the player has to dribble the ball under control over the goal line.
  • Play 3 x 3 mins with 1 min rest between rounds.
  • Rotate teams to play different opposition. 3 teams

Precise passing after dribbling (10 mins)

  • Groups of eight - two players on each corner.
  • Two balls, starting at opposite corners of the square.
  • Players with the ball start to dribble at the same time.
  • When they get to the cone in the centre they must pass the ball to the left with their forehand, through the cone goal.
  • Pass and follow pass.

VARIATION:

Drive pass right 

Drive J-turn and pass

Pass and play a 1-2 short pass before joining the back.

COACHING POINTS:

  • Practice passing the ball with the left foot forward, and with the right foot forward.
  • Try not to reduce the running speed too much when passing.

End Zone game (10 mins)

  • Each team is aiming to get the ball to their teammate in the end zone.
  • Only one player can be in an end zone at a time. They can move anywhere within that end zone.
  • Keep rotating the players in the end zones.

4 Goals game (10 mins)

Set up an area with 4 small goals (goals are in the cage area)

Play 4 v 4 or 3 v 3 (have 3 teams)

Teams play in one direction, but can score in either goal

First team to score 3 goals wins 

Winner stays on (for two games in a row at most) and the other team rotates

Variation

Introduce turn and burn

5 consequetive passes = 1 goal

Consider the team shape

Keep the play in the middle

Push them to their left to get them onto their reverse
