Aim:
- WE 1-2 Goal kick wall pass build up
- Prepare technical qualities needed for WE 1-2 goal kick wall pass build up
Organization:
- Players in groups of 4 with 1 ball
- Player A passes to B, who plays first time back to A
- A hits a first time ball to player D, who repeats the process with C
- As this happens, A and B swap positions and repeat
- 30 - 40 yard distance between long passes, 5-10 yard distance between the short passes
Coaching Points:
- Inside of foot for short pass
- First time
- Eye contact
- Open body and play long ball with correct foot
- Get ball in the air
- Good first touch to control ball out of the air
Progressions / Variations:
- Competition between groups, each pass controlled out of the air gives 1 point

Aim:

Organization:
- 6 (1, 3, 6, 10, 7, 11) v 5 (2, 5, 6, 10, 9) + 1 (neutral 3/9)
- Team of 6 building up trying to play the 9 to get a point
- Team of 5 trying to win the ball and score on the goal
- 30-40 long by 40 - 50 wide with part of the field cut off
Coaching Points:
- 1 plays to 3, plays back first time, and 1 makes decision to play either 7/9/11
- Must make eye contact with 3/call name with when to pass
- If 3 is marked, move away first to move in and call for the ball
- 3 can also move away completely and 6/10 moves into the space and calls for the ball
- Quality of pass back - right speed, right position, on the ground
- 1 setting up for longer pass, correct body position, passing with correct foot
- Once long pass is played, players move to support where the ball is falling
Progressions / Variations:

- Starting ball from anywhere
- Can add in a 2/5 and 7/11 from both teams, now if opponent drops back, we can play short

Coaching Points:
- 1 plays to 2/3/5, plays back first time, and 1 makes decision to play either 7/9/11
- Must make eye contact with 2/3/5/call name with when to pass
- If 2/3/5 is marked, move away first to move in and call for the ball
- 3 can also move away completely and 6/10 moves into the space and calls for the ball
- Quality of pass back - right speed, right position, on the ground
- 1 setting up for longer pass, correct body position, passing with correct foot
- Once long pass is played, players move to support where the ball is falling
Progressions / Variations:

- Add in another attacker from opponent
- If opponent backs up, play short and play from there
- Attacking team scores by dribbling over the line
- Change the neutral player to a player for opponent to make it 8v7
