Football/Soccer Session (Beginner): Finishing Bingo

Practice (20 mins)

Set up

• Square / circle / rectangle - use whatever space you have with two goals outside the central area
• 2x GKs
• Everyone else in the centre with a ball
  
• Separate the group into teams, give each player a number on both teams

• Players dribble around the box, then the coach calls out a number - the players on both teams with that number have to race and try to score in  the goal. First number goes to one goalpost and the second number goes to the other goalpost
• Strikers rejoin the middle group, regardless if they miss

Progressions

• 1) Consider starting with no goalkeepers
• 2) 1pt if they score
• 3) Strikers perform x20 ball skills if they miss before rejoining the session
• 4) Add a defender?
• 5) Use three or four teams and add extra goals (i.e. 3 teams = 3 goals, 4=4 etc)
• 6) Alternate ball mastery skills in the centre area
• 6) Use coloured cones for them to call out (to encourage getting their head up)

Think STEP

• Space - do you need to make it larger (easier) or smaller (more challenging)
• Task - can you change the task or challenge?
