Attacking Free Kick
Attacking Free Kick Set Piece
- Player one takes the free kick looking for a pass
- Player 6 dives the near post in case of a deflection and also to act as a decoy to the defense
- Players 2,3,4,5 line up parallel to the defensive wall
- Players 2,3,4 dive to goal as the free kick is taken
- Player 5 goes to opposite side of the line and looks for a pass
- Once player 5 receives pass he can settle and shoot the ball
- Goalie will have a tough time seeing when the shot is taken due to the line created by 2,3,4
- Make sure there is no movement until the free kick is taken as it can reveal your strategy

- Ensure your players to mark the closest person from the other team
- They should follow them regardless of the direction they choose to go
- Players should always position their body between the ball and goal
- Players should communicate if their marked player has gotten away
- Goalie should communicate if there is any attacker unmarked

Defending a Shooting Free Kick (20m)
Defending Attacking Free Kick
- Size of defending wall depends on angle and depth of the free kick
- If distance is within 20m then the wall should consist of 4 players
- Players 1-4 create wall with the anchor being lined up with near post to the kicker
- Players 1-4 should jump and do anything to deflect the ball while also protecting themselves
- Players 5-10 should play man to man and mark any other unguarded offensive player
- All players should always position their body between the ball and goal
- Goalie should practice communication by guiding the wall where to line up and letting their team know of any unmarked players

Attacking Corner Set Piece- Player one is taking the corner aiming for the shaded areas on the pitch
- Player one should lift right hand if they are going near post and left hand if they are going far post
- Player 2 is always set up on near post in case of an extremely short pass
- Player 3,4,5,6 are lined up starting from the top of the box
- Players 3,4,5,6 should NOT move until player one has started their approach to the ball
- Players 4 & 6 should dive to near post
- Players 3 & 5 should dive to far post
- Encourage players to get separation from their defender
- Motivate players to be agile if they are coming off the line
- Ensure body positioning and first touches are being corrected if performed wrong
