Possession in the final third wide play (30 mins)

Set up the area as seen above with a 2v1 in one half and the other with 2 neutral players inside the area. The neutral players need to be in the Attacking half at all times.

The ball starts with the Goalkeeper who plays to one of the players in their half. Once this has happened, the 2 wide players can enter the wide channels creating a 5v2 in the Attacking half of the field. However, the wide players cannot leave their wide channels.

Players in the Attacking half must combine and finish from a cross that has come from the wide players in the channels.

When the Attack has finished, the next team can go attacking the opposite end. The players that have just attacked must leave the area, creating a 5v2 in the opposite half. The practice repeats creating a wave practice.

wide area switch of play (30 mins)

Set up the area as seen above with 3 goals at one end and a big goal at the other. There are also 2 rectangles on either side of the field and a line representing the final third.

The ball starts with the coach and 3 Attackers vs 2 Defenders in one of the boxes. The rest of the players position themselves if the ball is positioned on this side of the field. The coach plays the ball to the Attackers who must make 2 passes before they can pass outside of the area into the field to begin the Attack on the big goal.

Once the ball is played into the area, the game becomes live and the Attacking team must switch play before they can score a goal.

Repeat the 3v2 4 times before moving to the other side of the field, allowing Attackers and Defender to play from either side of the field.
