1. This progression uses one-half of the field (roughly 50x60) with two 10-yard endzones for the respective target forward. Team play 7 v 7 with a target forward. Goal for each team is to be able to play a pass to their target forward. Defending team is looking to compact the space high up the field and apply high pressure to win ball back in attacking third of field.
2. Defensive cues of when to press high. Look for opportunities when attacking team passes back, makes a mistake with the ball, passes to a technically unskilled player, throw in deep in oppositions half, ball carrier facing away from direction of play or ball carrier near own sideline.

1. Phase of play progresses to half of the field with the attacking team looking to score in either of the wide counter goals. Defending team will take up position respective to the line of confrontation just outside of the 18-yard box. They are looking for cues to press high up the field and win the ball. Once the ball has been won, they look to attack the big goal.
2. Focus will be on the two forwards working together to funnel play toward the sideline and remove options for the Red backline while in possession of ball. Blue midfielders pinch inside to allow Red defenders option of playing wide. Once the ball, as been played wide, then Blue looks for cues to press high and get 2 v. 1 sitations.
3. While we are looking to press high, we need to stay compact and not simply chase the ball. Reading the cues of when to press and communicating will be key to success. If we cannot find 2 v. 1s, then we stay compact and wait for the next pass.

1. Full 9 v. 9 game.
2. Defending team looks to press high from centerline to the opposition's end line.
3. Stay compact and look for cues to press high and get into 2 v. 1's.
4. Look to win ball back early and transition to goal.
5. Be aware of long balls played out of the back. Backline will need to drop when they see the long ball cues so we do not get beaten over the top with balls played into space for forward.
