Organisation
Set up as above.
Place a GK in the goal.
Instructions
Each player will have three types of finish to complete in one set.
One player works at a time.
Player drives towards the mannequin, perform a move or drop of the shoulder, and shoot on goal.
As soon as the player releases his first shot, he must sprint towards the goal. Server 2 will deliver a ball for them to finish from close range.
Immediately following the close finish, the player must then recvoerback to an onside position, at the right of the mannequin, where server 3 will play a diagonal pass behind the mannequin, for the forward to spin off the mannequin, take one touch and then shoot. Having shot, the player must jog back to the line of players and the next player begins the routine.
Progressions
1. Create a time period for the player to complete all three finishes within.
2. take away the mannequin and add a defender who must try to stop the forward with all three attempts. You will now challenge the forward in a 1v1 situation and their abilityto lose their marker in the box.
Coaching Points
1. Three different types of finishes not only have different technical demands, but also mental one too. This is where decision making comes in. For example, power is required for the initial shot, but not for the next two finishes.
2. Movement is important for the second and third shots and must be dynamic and performed at the player's maximum effort.
3. Encourage the servers to play fast, difficult passes, into the forwards. You will be doing them no favours if the yare continually finishing from six yards with soft passes.
4. Angles are also importnat for the second and third attempts. Getting too straight or too wide will leave a difficult finish for the forward regardless of the type of pass.

Organisation
Set up as above.
Us three goals and place a GK in each goal.
Distances from goal can be altered towards the skill level of the player and physical demands you wish to impose.
Instructions
Exercise starts at A.
CF dribbles and plays a quick one-two with server and shoots on goal 1 from range.
Immediately followign the shot, CF sprints to B, collects a ball and then drives to goal 2, where he must take on the GK in a one on one battle.
As soon as that attempt on goal is complete, the CF sprints to C, collects a ball and must then dribble through the poles before shooting on Goal 3. After the third attempt, the player jogs around the back of the goals and returns to the starting position.
Progressions
1. Change the angle on the combination play with the server. You can challenge the player on their left foot, with a volley, or having to turn with the ball and shoot.
2. Add a time limit for the CF to complete all three sections. Does fatigue play a role in the quality of the finish? If so, this is an area that must be focused on.
3. Take away the poles at C and add a defender. Now the attacker must take on the defender and create a shot on goal. You can also add another attacker and create a 2v1 situation.
Coaching Points
1. Whether you choose to challenge the forward to sprint continuously or allow a jog recovery after each attempt, you must put pressure on the CF during the actual shooting activity.
2. Start on the right note. If the CF blazes the ball ovwer the bar on teh first attempt, it may be a good idea to start again. Keep standards high. Always hit the target, always work the GK.

Two Stage Shooting Drill (20 mins)
Organisation
Set up as above.
Place a GK in each goal and use two servers.
Instructions
Players work individually, and there are two parts to the exercise.
On the coach's signal, the first player must sprint and touch poles A, B & C, in order.
After touching pole C, the forward then sprints forward towards goal.
Serverr 1 passes the ball to Player 1 right in front of the mannequin.
Player 1 must take one touch to move the ball past the mannequin, before shooting on goal.
As soon as Player 1 shoots on goal, ne has 5 secs to sprint towards the next goal before Server 2 serves a ball across the 6 yard box.
If Player 1 can reach it in time, he should have routine finish from close range.
Player 1 then jogs back to the starting point for their recovery as the next player goes.
Progressions
1. Replace the first mannequin with a defender and now the forward has to create a shot from a 1v1 situation.
2. Change the service from Server 2 - draw it back or cross in the air. First time shot? Volley? Header?
3. Instead of the second server, allow server 1 to play a second ball into the feet of the forward to allow him to have a one on one with the GK.
3. Place a time restriction onm the whole exercise. Now the forward has to get two attempts on goal, along with sprinting, inside 20 secs or less.
Coaching Points
1. On the speed agility section at the start, focus on sharp turns and quick movement.
2. The first touch after the pass from Server 1 shoulkd be big enough to get past the mannequin, but small enojugh to remain in control of the ball. The touch should allow the forward to open up their stride and get power on the shot.
3. Challenge the forward's reaction after thye shot. They should not stand nad admire it but instaed work hard to get in front of the mannequin and finish from the cross from Server 2.
