In this session i aim to improve my teams ability to agressively press the ball carrier and nearby options to stop the counter attack in the first 5 seconds.

Cues Posession is about to be lost:

- poor first touch

- no scan

- facing the wrong way to recicve

-Outnumberd around the ball

-Oppostion player moving into a line of pass

Conditioning

-4x5.30 min

- Rest 2 min ( montinor player exertion)

Core Strength 3x45secs each exercise

- Body Weight Squats

- One Leg Squats ( leg in the air stays in front)

- Plank

- Side Bridge ( top hand moves in and out)

-Moutain Climber ( Hands on ball )

- Reverse Burpee ( dont use hands on the way down)

Screen 2

2v2

- Game starts with free passing inside the sqaure , you must always pass to an opposite colour then your team

- On the coaches whistle the team not in possession will press the sqaure to their left that has the ball

- Every time the coach blows the whistle your team moves in a clockwise direction to press if they do not have the ball

Progression

- 2v2 game ( run the ball over the line to score) before the pressing action

- Squeeze just before possession is about to be lost

- Blue team on the outside aim to keep possesion with the red neutral players

- Black press from inside the sqaure to try and win the ball back

- Once black win the ball back they need to transition the ball to the outside of the sqaure

- Once they do that succesfully black and blue switch roles

Team Task

As soon as possession is about to be lost can we step in and squeeze the ball carrier and closest passing options

Player Tasks

- Whilst your in possession can you scan and identify were the closest player for the opposition is

- Can you take a step in as the ball is being circulated to ether help to press on your side or tuck in on the other

Can you anticipate possession is about to be lost and squeeze in on this moment

-Outnumberd around the ball

-Oppostion player moving into a line of pass

- As the ball is about to be lost can you step in and :

- can the closest player to the ball press it

- Can the secondary players around the ball cover the next closest passing options

6v6 Condtioing Game

Rules

- Win the ball back within 6 seconds and its worth one point

-On the whistle players need to get around a different coloured cone on the outside

-If you kick the ball out you need to go and get it and return it to your goal (Other team starts with a ball that is placed on the sideline in their defensive half)

- If you can win the ball back in your attacking half and score the goal is worth two
