Set up - 2 grids 10m x 20m with pop up goals or poles. Balls as required. 2 teams
Instructions -
All playyers start with a ball.
Blue players to start, run with ball towards scoring zone at opposite end of grid, player must be in scoring zone before shooting.
Once blue player reaches scoring zone red player runs with ball towards scoring zone at opposite end , blue player turns and chases.
Next blue player goes and the drill is continued until all players have returned to their starting positions.
Teams to keep score of goals.
If chaser catches the runner and tags him that ends that run and the next player goes.
Coaching Points -
Good first touch
attack the space
shield the ball
use the laces to travel quickly
head up and spot the target

Set up - field 20 x30 or 30 x 40 with big goals & gks or pop ups divided into 3 zones. 2/3 teams depending on numbers/size of field.
Instructions -
Teams setup as shown, 2v2+gk in end zones, 4v4 in middle zone. Players to stay in their zones. The game is directional.
Play starts in middle, mormal game rules apply for restarts.
The ball is passed around in the middle zone, until a player is able to dribble the ball into his end zone, 1 team mate is able to follow in to the end zone to support(causing a 4v2+gk overload) to try and score a goal.
Attacking team has 3-5 seconds (age/ability dependant) to score or the game restarts.
Coach to serve ball into centre.
If goal is scored, normal restart takes place.

Set up - 2 grids 15m x20m, 4 poles and balls as required, players split into 2 teams, 1 team at each end of grid to start as shown.
Instructions -
Starting with blue team the first player runs with the ball towards pole at opposite end.
As blue player approaches the pole he passes to red player who runs ball back to the pole at the other end.
The blue player runs around the pole and chases the red player back.
Red player repeats the action and the drill is continued until all players are back in their staring positions.
Repeat drill making sure both feet are used.
Changes -
If chaser is catching the runner add another cone for chaser to round to increase distance. As shown.

runner to attack the space
body between ball and defender
use correct part of foot when running
can we get our head up when running
communicate with team mates

Warm up (5 mins)
Set up - Players in groups of 2 with 1 ball, cones as required.
Instructions -
Cones set out as above red and blue 2m apart, blue and yellow 6m apart.
Server on red cone, receiver on blue cone.
Server plays pass to receiver, who turns with ball around blue cone and dribbles towards yellow cone.
Receiver dribbles around yellow cone and back to blue cone.
Receiver passes ball back to server from blue cone.
Players repeat action for 1 minute. (keep score on how many sets).
Swap positions and repeat.
Coach to call direction receiver turns
For older age groups server can call which direction the receiver turns.
