• This is a transition possession game, consisting of two teams of six players and a mini-goal at each corner of the playing area.
• The attacking team – here, Team A – starts with four players on the outside of the playing area and two players inside the playing area. The defending team (Team B) starts with all of their players inside the playing area.
• Diagram 1 shows a scenario in which Team A is attempting to keep possession, but they give the ball away to Team B. Once possession has been turned over, Team A’s players can all enter the playing area to counter-press. Team B attempts to score into one of the four mini-goals.
• If Team B misses the mini-goal, a new ball is served in and Team A remains as the team in possession.

This is a 6v6 attack-versus-defence breakout game, played on a 40m x 80m pitch that is split in half.
• The game starts in one half with an attacking team (Team A) in possession and attempting to score. The Team A players are not allowed to leave the half in which they are attacking.
• If Team A scores, a new ball is fed into Team A for them to continue attacking.
• The out-of-possession team (Team B) attempts to win the ball from Team A and counter-attack quickly (Diagram 1).
• If they win the ball and score, they become the attacking team in the opposition’s half (Diagram 2). If they fail to score, they remain as the defending team side in their own half.
• If a team is able to score within one pass of winning the ball, they are awarded two points. This is to encourage the team to play forward quickly in transition
