SESSION TOPIC: IN POSESSION
2 player combinations in futsal account for 45-55% of ALL goals scored so are very important within Game Models.
This session will aim to explore the relationship/requirements to maximise building attacking opportunities and finalising/finishing them
Areas covered
SET UP (1)
As in diagram
Space: 1/2 Court
Full Size Goal with GK and supply of balls by the side of the Full Size goal
2 Target Goals on half way line either side of the centre circle
RED TEAM: Defenders
PURPLE TEAM: Attackers
Cones set up at each end as start positions
PRACTICE: 2 vs 2+GK
GK rolls a ball out to one of the 2 waiting attackers, one on each side of the goal.
There is a defender at each corner.
Once the ball is released, the 2 PURPLE attackers combine to try and score in the main goal.
The RED defenders can attempt to win the ball back and they can score in either of the TARGET goals on the half way line.
If the GK saves a shot/recovers ball they can launch an attack to the RED players with normal futsal Laws of The Game time/possession for GK.
Each round will play to a conclusion. Goal by Purple team. goal by Red team or the ball goes out of play.
Once each round is concluded, players return to their start positions and the next group will go.
Practice Round: 90 seconds each (3) mins
Second Round: 3 mins
Third Round 3 mins
Progression
Whichever attacker receives the ball, must make at least one pass before the can score. This allows the defending team to put the attackers under more pressure to solve the challenge.
