In a space that is 30 yards long and 45 yards wide we will play a game that will encourage crossing.
The game is 6v6 and balls crossed in from the shaded area on the field, that are scored are worth 2 points. Any other goal in the corner is worth 1 point. The corner is marked by placing a pole away from the post. There are no goalkeepers in this game.
Each team will play a 2-3-1 and we will look to focus on good width to the team in order to cross the ball into the box.
When a player is played into the wide area they cannot be tackled, but they only have a maximum of 3 touches to get the cross off.
Progression: One player can defend in the wide area
Progression: Free Play, but goals scored from a cross are worth 3

Crossing Pattern
This session will emphasize crossing the ball into the box. Specifically on the ground.
We will start with a passing pattern that involves a cross and finish.
The exercise starts in the middle with a player playing an entry pass into a wide player
Who will need to cross the ball in two touches to a player who started on the top cone and at the start of the sequence made a run into the box around one of the poles.
They will need to focus on the ball being played into the run of the forward making the run into the box.
