Football Problem
We fail to consistantly hold posession playing into the middle third to ensure we are out of danger and starting to build an effective attack
Session Objective
The objective in this session is to improve the teams posession through the middle of the feild to illiminate a counter attack and start to build our own attacking in the oppositions final third
Organisation
5v5v5 in 2 x 25 x 15 grid and 1 x 25 x 8 grid as shown. Ball starts with the blue team and the players are to pass it 6 times before tryig to transfer over to the yellow team. When the yellow team receive the ball they are to play 6 passes and then try and transfer back to blue the red team can press with two in the grid in BP with three cutting off passing channels. if red win the ball they are to swap to the outside and the team that made the error becomes the defending team.
Progression
limit touches and transfer cannot go higher than knee height
Team Task
ensure there is movement in BP and hold posession. ensure when your grid is about to receive that two players minimum are in passing lanes
Player Tasks
Movement off the ball to present as an option in BP. Ensure if someone comes in your space to move out to another area to keep shape in BP. Ball needs to move quickly

runs to receive the ball. team communication.passing accuracy and body position to transfer forward

Organisation
7v8 playing into the middle third. Ball starts with blue team keeper and they are to get the ball over the blue line to 10 who will play into a progressing 2,5 o r6 & 8 to receive a point. If red win the ball they are to score in the goal but can only have two players to progress into the penalty area. Blue can only defend with two in the box as well
Progression
limit touches and the 10 to allowed in the zone to encourage rotation between 6 8 & 10. take limitation off red team when they win the ball
Team Task
Ensure the players 2& 5 are creating space by dropping low or going high and 6&8 in the middle to be an immediate option at all times. this should allow time to control posession and move forward effectively
Player Tasks
2 & 5 high and wide, 6,8,10 to have rotation but maintain structure in the middle. 3 & 4 distribution only in case there is loss of posession

Movement off the ball, keep the ball moving, passing accuracy. ability to see what is going on around them
