Setup:
3 Cones (white, blue, yellow) positioned as a triangle - roughly about 1m away from the player each side. Coach feeds the ball in from 2m away.
Footwork Activity 1 - (3 Sets of 5 Repititions):
1). Ball is played back and forth.
2). Coach calls colour (white or blue) and player has to slide and open their body ready to recieve the ball.
3). Play a pass back - followed by a recovery to the starting position.
Progression: When coach calls a colour (i.e blue), rather than play a bounce pass back to the coach the player drives towards the yellow cone and dribbles around it - finishing with a pass back to the coach. To develop further after dribbling around the yellow cone pass into the coach and slide to the other cone, in this instance the white cone for a bounce pass followed by a recovery.
Footwork Activity 2 - (3 sets of 5 Repititions):
Coach will call yellow or drop deep, player has to drop off to recieve a pass, touch around the cone and pass back followed by a recovery to the starting position. Coach can enforce this with "drop left" or "drop right".
Progressions: After passing around the yellow cone coach can call left/right and player immediately screens to that position ready for a pass. Call all 3 colours in final repetition, designed to test focus and awareness as well as first touch with both feet.
Coaching Points:
Awareness - Drop Deep or show for the ball (coming close to recieve)
Sliding & Screening (left and right)
Opening your body (to recieve or to turn with the ball)

Shooting & Finishing:
Setup: 3 cones on the edge of the 18 yard box, either left or right side (switch after each set).
1). Player dribbles the ball through the cones and finishes by opening their body and having a shot on goal.
2). Coach plays a lobbed ball in for player to control (head/knee/chest/foot), once the ball is under control they have a shot on goal.
3). Player makes a run around the blue cone, the coach plays a fast ball into their feet for them to strike first time.
Complete each set 3 times, 3 shots per set - 9 shots in total.

Part of the Foot (Technique)
First Touch (In the direction you want to set the ball for a shot)
Open up your body (aiming for the far post)

Shooting and Finishing:
1). Coach plays a pass into stiker's feet who is recovering from offside position - player bounces ball back to coach and then arcs run towards the center of the 18 yard box for a pass to be played in and shoot first time.
2). Player checks shoulder and moves into the space between CB and LB/RB. Make sure to stay onside. The ball is played in by the coach and the player takes a touch fowards and has a strike at goal

Shooting and Finishing:
1). The player 'pins' the defender, a ball is played in and they spin, taking a touch with the outside of their foot and have a shot on goal. If the player spins using their right foot then encourage the shot to be taken with the left foot.
2). The player recovers and makes an overlapping run outside of the LB/RB for a cross to be played in. Player looks to shoot first time.

4 Fitness and Footwork Activities (Starter):
Activity 1 (3 sets of 3 on each foot):
Using a speed ladder the player moves down the ladder by going in and out of the ladder (right to left). When the player reaches the left side a ball will be played to them for them to pass it back first time. (left side = left foot / right side = right foot)
Activity 2 (Passing and Footwork):
Player moves right to left or left to right. When players moves out the ball is played in for a bounce pass. Coach may call left or right and player has to react. If coach calls "drop" or "drop deep" player must drop off, recieve the ball and dribble to the other side before playing a pass back.
Activity 3 (3 sets on each movement):
Player does 30 seconds of work on each movement. After 30 seconds the coach with Clap and player must react and sprint to the cone in front - walk back to recover then start again on next movement. Add a ball to progress.
Activity 4 (3 sets of 5) - Passing and Moving:
Player begins by sliding left, when the ball is played in they move left and play with their left foot. After each pass the player continues to slide to the left until reaching the end of the cones. When player reaches the end of the cones they slide right and pass back first time with their right foot until reaching the start point, that is 1 set completed.
