Football/Soccer Session (Academy Sessions): GOALKEEPER AGILITY AND REACTIONS (Start Time: 2023-12-21 17:00:00)

Goalkeeper Reactions (10 mins)

Method:

Square 12 metres.  Diamond in middle formed 3 metres in from each side mid point.

4 players at each corner.  Keeper in middle of diagonal moving with the player in possession.

Players pass to each other with the keeper along the outside while waiting for a potential pass to the opposite diagonal.

Keeper to be ready to save the potential pass. 

Players rotate clockwise after a successful pass beats the keeper.

Outside passing rotation to vary between clockwise and anti clockwise

Coaching Points:

• Keepers to follow action of passing players
• Good footwork to remain in the flight of any potential shot.
• Agility to get down quickly to save. (Collapse dive technique)
• Covering all potential passing lanes to the opposite side
• Demonstrate foot block technique as required.
