Set up 20 x 20 square
Movement inside the area, once change of direction to explode away and get outside the area. 20 seconds to make a decision of when to go. slow the defender down and make a distinctive change of direction or movement to get away without being tagged. scoring - keep score of everytime you tag attacker.

This soccer drill allows players to defend in 1v1 situations to protect the goal. Defenders to prevent attacking opportunities when attacker is facing the goal and also when attacker receives with back to goal.
Set Up
15 mins10 players4 balls10 bibs12 cones25 x 25 area
Setup
Penalty Area with goal and GK . Coach plays ball to the attacker (X) who attempts to get past defender in 1v1 for attempt at goal. Defender attempts to stop the attacker. Once ball is dead, next 2 players and swap roles.
Make it easier:
Start with the ball in the hands
Make area smaller
Add extra defender
Make it more challenging:
Attacker receives the ball with his back to the defender and goal. Defender attempts to prevent the attacker from turning and producing an attempt at goal.
