Method:25m * 25m double square. Designed to create good supporting angles , Open up space to create passing lanes , Beat a press
Coaching Points: when a pass is played to an outside player, at all times 3 to 4 passing options need to be created .
1a and 1b should always give supporting angles , open body shape is key is to recieving a pass under pressure to open up the play . timing is essential for passing option 2. players 1a and 1b support out wide taking oppossition players with them. encourage central players to recognise this passing lane and space create.
player 2 makes a timed run to recive a pass, bodyshape will depend on opposition press . if timing is good recieve pass on the half turn and seek to find deep lying player 3 .if that option is closed spread the play to an outside player . player 2 must support there pass.
if the central player ( 2) run is tracked and pressed well and side on bodyshape is not an option. this will prompt triggers for team mates to recognise and outside player teammate to look for player 2 to bounce pass the ball back to him .the outside player will look to beat the press by seeking deep lying player 3.
if that option is not available , a pass to an outside player can be chosen . the same rules of support angles , passing lanes , movement will apply anywhere on the pitch when the ball is played outside . players must recognise and organise where to go , what space to create, what timing to apply.
