Description.  


Technical Drill, Skill Drill & Small Sided Game


Session Duration: 1 Hour


Focus Areas


Consistency with accuracy during the Shooting practice.


Apply the realistic scenarios to small sided game




Technical Drill- 15 minutes  


Players involved- 10 players


Area Size- 40x20


Multiple balls in play, one for each in the shooting que.


Both sides are looking to score as many goals as possible with accuracy and power


Teams will alternate each time


Players are not going to be fatigued after this drill due to longer periods of rest.

First time finishing 

Weaker foot finishing



Regressions

Can have 2 touches

 Take the goalkeeper one vs one


Challenges, conditions, or targets.

Can Players Call for the ball before receiving which results in lose or gaining points

Keep track of how many goals are scored each week

Can players pick a corner and finish in that part of the goal.



Interventions


Bullseye- Pull one of the players who has just taken a shot and talk about (mechanics) body positioning, and technique when striking the ball.

Freeze- This can be used to demonstrate the right technique and body position if they group are struggling.

Skill Drill- 15 minutes  


Players involved- 10 players


Area Size- 40x20

Defenders aim to apply pressure to the attacking players and block the shot.

once the player passes the ball back he becomes the extra man to create a 2v1 overload.

Add another defender and lose that overload.

The ball comes live from the start and has no man on the edge of the box.

Small Sided Game-30 minutes  


Players involved- 10 players


Area Size- 40x30

One ball in play at a time

Defenders aim to apply pressure to the attacking players and block the shot.

once the player passes the ball back he becomes the extra man to create a 2v1 overload.

The attacking team has an extra player to create overload, he can act like an attacking player and will act so during the game.

once the defensive players have the ball they can then play around and the aim is to get into either mini goal on the corner of the half way line.
