Warm up 1v1 (15 mins)

Warm Up 1v1

- Players start in the central area behind the cone

- Sprint around the pole and coach will feed the ball for a 1v1

- Focus on intensity of the sprint

- Once the ball has gone out of play, the attackers then make way to the touchline and complete the hurdles and ladders before returning to the central area.

Crossing exercise

Crossing Exercise

- Wide player looks to pass to the feeder who then sets the ball for wide player to deliver

- Once wide player makes the 1st pass, three attackers time their run and attack the cross unopposed

- After attackers have attacked the cross, they then complete the circuit by sprinting in the sprint box, then return to the start

- Players to make a run and then sprint into a different zone (useful for set pieces in future)

- Wingers focus on crossing the ball just in front of the attackers

- Swap sides/ wingers every 3-4 minutes

- Progress by adding 1-2 defenders to defend the crosses

- 1 touch finish

Keep Possession Game

- One team look to keep possession whilst the defending team have to try and win back the ball

- 5 passes and another defender joins into try and retrieve the ball

- If & when the defenders retrieve possession, they will become the team in possession.

Switching the Play (10 mins)

Switching the Play

- 4v1 in each zone

- As soon as the ball is played, players can move into further positions

- Players look to switch the play across through either of the two goals to their players before scoring.

- The ball CAN be played through the middle zone, however the ball must be played back for the ball to then be played into the mid zone.

- When defenders win the ball, they must also try and score by playing the ball through the wide zone.

- Stretch the pitch - Stretch the opposition - Defenders spacial positioning next to eachother is increased

Transition Game

Transition Game

- Attacking players play the ball to the GK who then plays to the defender on either side, who then looks to attack the mini goals.

- 1 point for central player to score.

- 2 points for the fullback/ wingback to score

- Attackers focus on a 'high press from the front' and look to win the ball to transition themselves into attack.

- If a goal is scored they will recieve 1 point

- If they can pass the ball through the 'wide gates' then they will recieve 2 points
