Reciving on the Half-Turn

In this session we will focus on receiving on the half-turn.

The purpose of receiving on the half-turn is to have your body opened up to the most options possible.

In this activity the player working in the middle will need to check in to the mannequin, the ball will be played to them on their "back foot" (the foot farthest from the passer) in order to make receiving on the half turn as easy as possible.

If the ball is played intot he front foot, then they will need to make a choice

- turn in two touches, or

- adjust body by sliding feet to force the back foot reception and turn

3v3 + 6 Rondo

There are 2 most appropriate times to play on the half turn

1) when a player is checking back for the ball

2) when a player is playing in the midfield and looking to switch the field.

This game is a 360 Degree game with no direction and will look to recreate the two situations above.

The attacking team is in red.

There are 6 bumper players on the outside

The attacking players need to check towards the ball in order to get on the ball and try to receive the ball on the half-turn to play out to another player.

If you can go all the way across the grid it is 2 points

Going from one side to another side right next to it is worth one point.
