Face to Face (Step Over)
Set Up
Players shold be set up as shown in the diagram. Where possible players should start with a ball each. There should be no more than 3 per group.
Instruction
Players dribble towards the marker (defender) taking plenty of controlling touches. Upon approaching the defender players should perform a 'Step Over' move to beat the defender. After 3-4 minutes the same move should be performed using their other foot. Coach dictates what side the ball is taken too.
Coaching Points
Fake / look to take ball to one side.
Step over / round the ball.
Move feet quickly to then push ball with outside of the opposite foot.
Push ball beyond / past the defender.
Get away from defender!
Other:
Depending of age / ability of group will dicatate how much the skill is broken down. If required have players perform the skill standing to start and build from there.

Face to Face (Step Over)
Set Up:
Players are split evenly into two teams. Players can either be numbered 1-4 etc or just take it in turn to have a shot. Coach should postion themself in the middle with a supply of footballs.
Action:
On the coaches command a player from each side will come out to play a 1v1. Coach should weight a pass into one player who should recieve and attack the oncoming defender. The attacking player should try to beat the defender then score a goal. Attackers should be encouraged to dribble into the shooting zone before finish on goal.
Transition:
If the defender wins the ball they should quickly attack the opposite goal to try and score.
Progression:
Groups that are progressing well can be advance to 2v1 & 2v2's. Players should then be split between the two yellow markers.

Attack at speed

Get away from defender

Set Up / Instruction:
Before SSG players should be given instruction regarding playing postions. Specific postions should be mentioned and refered to during the matches. Information on what roles each player has should also be shared.
If games are more than 4v4 additional player should be added in the following order...
1.Center Midfield
2.Defender (Left or Right Back)
