white team start - player dribbles unopposed and looks to score in goal opposite him,as soon as he gets his shot off, he needs to transition to defend quickly to get across and defend the other goal against a blue team player in a 1v1. Once blue team ball is gone dead, he needs to transition to defend against white team player & sequence continues for 2 minutes.
Coaching points:
pressing - distances - slow up as you get close to the ball
recovery runs
protect inside first - can we force him away from goal
triggers to win the ball

2v2 with focus on transition to defend - white team begin by passing back and forth to each other - blue team semi oppose press and cover ( ensure they shift together) on the coaches call, white team player plays into the end man - once this happens its a race to get there and white team look to score in the goal - if defending team win it they can attack in opposite end goals & can play into the opposite end man to get forward quickly.
Coaching points:
Press and cover - seesaw- one in one out
Body shape - can we keep our body open when ball is played into end man to keep traxk of our runners - arm out might slow him down but keeps you close to him - don't turn our back on the runner - be aware where he is.
Runs - forwadd ball - can we vary our runs - no straight lines - esy to mark - diag/curved runs to create space to run into to get the ball.
Transitions - T2D - nearest man to the ball slow him up - other gets back in - stay connected shift together no crossovers - pass him on - communicate

1. player dribble in to diamond, go to left, around the cone & pass out - 1 minute then change to right, 1 minute then change to straight through.
Progress to dribble in park ball at nearest cone to you, go left and pass ball out & follow your pass out - 1 minute left one minute right, one minute straight through.
Left side cone - right foot pass ou, right side cone, left foot pass out, keep head up to avoice crashes in middle of the inside diamond.
