8v5 (3 defenders always in to press the ball)
Possession team keep the ball on 3 touch within their unit and look to play forward between the middle lines to other unit when a forward pass can be played.
If pressing team win it can we try and keep it? encourage counter press.
Progression - add in small goals either end
If team gets 4 forward passes (over and back 4 times from one unit to the other) they can score in either small goal - if defending team win it they can also look to score.
Rotate defenders after 3 minute games.
Coaching Points:
Keep body shape open
Receiving group play in different positions & not in same lines
awareness of when to play forward
T2D -nearest man press - get compact surrounding players narrow up.

pitch split into 3 zones - aim to encourage forward pass to the strikers who can then look to finish - striker stays in this zone and one defender can drop in when the ball is played into him. Allow forward runners to enter the zone to encourage combination play.
Coaching Points:
Angles to break the lines - be brave
bending runs inside for one touch finish if we can
midfielders - 6,8,10 - not in same lines

warm up - patterns
1. ball played into first man, he takes on half turn & plays to an outside man ( any side to start) outside man dribbles/passes back to the start and repeat - When repeated the next ball needs to be played to the opposite side who then dribbles or passes back.
2. ball played inside, inside man opens and plays out to an outside man who bounces it back to middle man to wrap it out to opposite side, receiver on opposite side dribbles or passes back to the start.
Coaching Points:
angles to receive - back foot front foot
timing runs from outside players & information to play infront of them
Runs - do we run in straight line or bend it to wrap the ball out to the other side?
