WU- Blocking (10 mins)

Explanation

12x12 grid

Goalkeeper jog in the square without the ball going through a variety of dynamic movements for the first 2-4 minutes

-jog, Heels up, knees up, open/close gates, leg swings, etc etc

After initial warm up period GK continue to move around the square with various dynamic movements but on coaches call go up to any ball and 5 point block

-Ensure leading with left and right legs.

Isolated Technical-Blocking Jr (10 mins)

Explanation

At the same time pairs of goalkeepers move down the line of their respective ball and execute a 5 point block shape. GK return to back of line and swap sides ensuring they work both side.

Have passive player standing over the ball-Not contact on ball at this stage.

Rotate passive players with goalkeepers after 3-5 blocks.

Progressions-1

-Allow the gk to get down the line and execute block shape, Player then passes ball into gk block shape (ball contact familiarisation) 
-Player on ball starts 2 steps back from ball. On coaches call attacker and goalkeeper can move to defend goal.(attacking player side foot finish only)

-Player on ball starts with ball at feet but increases the distance by two yards. Attacking player takes touch out of feet and finishes with the second touch(side foot finish only)

2- Split group into two groups of three. Players (red) pass the ball back and forward to one another. At any time the attacking player takes a touch towards goal and looks to side foot finish.

Explanation

12 x12 Square

Players on the outside look to knock the ball off the cone with a side foot finish. Maximum 4-5 passes before attempt on goal.

GK looks to defend using 5 point block/any part of the body to defend goal.

Hidden Learning- Distribution- External players focus on  first touch and passing,

Regressions

External players start in a kneeling position. Use underarm roll to pass between players and score a goal

GRP-Blocking (15 mins)

Explanation

Coach Serves ball into attacking player. Attacking player has maximum 3 touches to score but must get to the central neutral zone before they can side foot finish into the mini goal.

GK engage down the line and looks to block/defend goal 

Progressions

-Server changes where ball enters play from to position 1 & 2. Ball is played in front of the attacking player to replicate a through ball. maximum two touches to score with a side foot finish only.

1v1 (15 mins)

Explanation

Phase 1

Ball is played from the coach into the central attacking player. Attacking player can shoot on their first touch or take a touch that goes outside the neutral central zone towards either goal to create a 1v1 situation. 

Constraints

-Attacking player has maximum 3 touches to score

-attacking player must dribble around the goalkeeper

-Attacking player looks to score using a side foot finish or dribble- At game pace and realism 

Phase 2

If the goalkeeper makes the save and maintains possession the goalkeeper can either

role to the coach or any attacking player for a 1v1 going in the opposite direction

If the goalkeeper makes the save and rebounds into play any attacking player can go and score in the opposite goal. Continues until ball is dead

If the goalkeeper doesn't maintain possession or a goal is scored/goes out of play a second ball is played in from the coach to the attacking player to attack the opposite goalkeeper
