Football/Soccer Session (Academy Sessions): GK Distribution

Technical (20 mins)

• Half Pitch
• GKs
• 4 target goals
• Manikins / airbodies 
  

• GK will work with defenders in 4v3 scenario before deciding on which goal to play into.
• Encouraging the GK's to be brave in possession and utilise either the draw pass or dribbling with the ball to bring ATT out of position to make playing around easier.
• Attackers to provide passive pressure to block off passes, goals and DEF players.
• Starting with a live ball with any of the 3 DEF.

- Pass selection (side foot vs driven vs lofted etc).

- Ball speed.

- Supporting positions (space to receive vs create space?).

- 1st time pass vs taking a touch and drawing players?

Transitional (20 mins)

Adaptations (Progressions & Regressions):

• GK now to start with ball, recreating goalkick restart.
• GK/DEF to play out based on positioning of ATT players.
• DEF can now play passes into mini goals too.
• If ATT win ball back, they can combine to score as previous practice.
• If DEF score, coaches (black) can serve balls into ATT players where they will have 3 seconds to combine and score.

Challenges, Conditions or Targets:

• GK can mix up kick starting position.
• Rotate who takes initial kick.
